In 2019, the Social Concerns Committee celebrated its 25th anniversary of service and advocacy in the Phoenixville community. Marking the milestone, the committee hosted the 25th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Breakfast on April 1 with keynote speaker Abdul Kelly, while also encouraging community members to “walk the walk” through meaningful acts of social justice. From volunteering at local shelters and food pantries to engaging in civic life, cultural events, and advocacy, participants were invited to commit 25 hours of service and action as a living tribute to the committee’s mission of justice, compassion, and community.
