Friday, June 5, 2020 was the day on which seven Phoenixville School District students organized a peaceful protest march commencing at Bridge & Main Streets and culminating in a rally at Reeves Park. The march was a multi-racial and multi-cultural outpouring of support and affirmation that Black Lives Matter.
“Blackcellence” was chosen by the students to be the name that describes their ongoing work to change the world, one heart at a time. The Phoenixville community and members of the Social Concerns Committee displayed BLM states at local events. responded with dozens of expressions of solidarity.
